Podiatry services Sports Medicine Clinic provides
General feet treatments
We truly believe in prevention over cure. Ongoing nail and skin care will help manage and can even prevent ingrown toenails, corns and callus build-up, warts, Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA), and fungal toenails. Already have one or more of these conditions? We are here to help you tackle it!
Custom made orthotics
The Podiatrists at Sports Medicine Clinic, like Yasmin Karam, understand how the body moves during walking, jogging, running, and sports. Incorrect alignment of your feet can have a detrimental impact on the way the rest of the body moves, causing pain in not only your feet such as heels and ankles but can also cause pain in other major parts of your body including your knees, hips, and back. Custom-made orthotics work to realign your foot and ankle to their optimal position (which is different for everyone).
Diabetic feet assessment and treatments
People with diabetes can be at risk of problems with their feet, especially when it comes to healing and feeling. Delayed wound healing in people with diabetes is caused by reduced blood flow which causes a huge risk of infection which in worse case scenarios can lead to amputation.
Also, people with diabetes may have reduced nerve sensations in their feet, preventing them from feeling if there is a problem with their feet. Podiatrists play a huge role in managing the feet of those with diabetes, assessing their blood flow and nerve sensation, and giving them a risk rating which is relayed back to their GP. Regular treatment and management is advised.
